Supporting Local Communities
We hire local guides, drivers, cooks, and porters from Cusco and the surrounding Andean communities, and we pay fair, on-time wages in line with Peru’s labor regulations. Where our itineraries pass through rural communities — Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, the Sacred Valley, the Ausangate region — we prioritize local providers for meals, lodging, and transport so that tourism income stays close to the people who host our travelers.
Environmental Responsibility
Our treks and day tours follow Leave No Trace practices: we pack out all waste generated by our groups, brief travelers on responsible behavior on trail, and avoid single-use plastics wherever we can. We respect the carrying capacity of protected areas such as the Inca Trail and the Salkantay route, and we operate within the permit systems set by SERNANP and Peru’s Ministry of Culture.
Cultural Respect
We ask every traveler to approach the communities, sites, and traditions they visit with respect — asking before photographing people, following the guidance of local hosts, and behaving appropriately at sacred and archaeological sites.
